More Swingin' Sixties pals. Duncan's 'other career' during the decade of far-out fashion, (in common with Willy Walker and Mike Lennox) was as a male model.

Their friend Softly (right of photo) was a fellow model and record promoter.

Assisting Stewpot with his Memoirs

Duncan wrote:
"Here is a photo (left) which I thought you might like to see. It's me, Stewpot and Softly, taken at the Cricketers' Club in Blandford Street, when Stewpot wanted some help in putting the final touches to his biography.

Softly used to accompany Mike Lennox, Stewpot or me to all the Sixties record company receptions, so much so, that he attended more than any of us! We always had to go back to the ship and, of course, he didn't. Many of the record company people assumed he was part of the Radio London staff and once he and (journalist) Penny Valentine became an item, he was invited everywhere."

Duncan: The Beatles' Walrus Man?

Fairly early in the life of the Radio London website, we devoted a page to speculation as to whether Duncan was the subject of a Beatles lyric. 'I Am the Walrus' contains the line, "Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long..." Did it refer to Duncan, a Tuesday man who had been booted off Radio 1's 'Midday Spin'. Duncan gives his own opinion on the subject.
