On the whole, it seems that this week's 'ordinary' climbers which include Guantanamera, Have You Ever Loved Somebody and Bend It,
were destined to fare much better, chartwise, than those selected as DJ hit picks

Leaping up to #5 in this week's Fab Forty, Here, There and Everywhere was released outside the UK in a number of different picture sleeves, most of them designed around the same photo. (We love Roger Glover's groovy checked flares!) The 'B' side, Mighty Morris Ten, is a spoof on the US drag racing craze. The 10hp Morris Ten would have needed an engine replacement to be a match for a little Deuce Coupe!

Besides climbers that were played at the time of the broadcast of the Sunday Fab Forty, Alan kept a note of others he heard later in the week and incorporated them into his list.

• It's DJ Week on Radio London, as two of this week's climbers were recorded by offshore DJs. Tommy Vance's first single You Must Be the One was chosen by Norman St John. Tommy was aboard the Mi Amigo at the time, but was to join Radio London in her final weeks. Ed Stewart's pick was Wake Up, a second release for Tony Merrick. Tony had previously battled the similarly-named David Garrick with his recording of the Stones' Lady Jane. It wasn't till 1967 that Merrick joined Radio Scotland, then (after the passing of the Marine Offences Bill) climbed aboard Caroline South, as Stevi Merike. Both of these DJ climbers vanished after just one week on the list.
  
  Tony Merrick's old rival David Garrick also had a single picked as a climber this week, Dear Mrs Applebee, which was destined to take him to #8 in the Fab Forty also into the National Top Thirty.
